Raleigh and Wilmington NC Wedding Photographers
Our names are Charo and Mike Baxter, and we are a married pair of documentary wedding photographers serving the entire southeast and points beyond. We're based in the Raleigh-Durham area, and we specialize in providing honest, thoughtful, respectful, and beautiful imagery of weddings of all styles and budgets. We are best known for capturing evocative moments, quirky angles, and beautiful light in our photographs.
We both consider the Port City to be our home, and we find ourselves back in Wilmington many times a year to photograph weddings, engagements, portraits, and boudoir sessions. We moved from the Cape Fear region in 2015 up to South Raleigh, but our hearts are still in downtown Wilmy, where we have spent the majority of our careers finding the perfect photographic locations and taking clients out for beers at our favorite haunts. We have a great deal of experience working at all of the major Wilmington venues, including photographing weddings at 128 South, City Club, Thalian Hall, Watermark Marina, The Battleship North Carolina, Bakery 105, Coastline Convention Center, Poplar Grove Plantation, Porters Neck Plantation, The Atrium, The Arboretum, The Country Club of Landfall, Oceanic Restaurant, Events! On Front, the Wilmington Convention Center, Beau Rivage Golf and Resort, Bluewater Oceanfront Grill, Shell Island Resort, Balcony on Dock, Airlie Gardens, The RiverRoom, The Surf Club, Saint Thomas Preservation Hall, The Riverwalk Landing, every public access at Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, Topsail Island, Surf City, and Fort Fisher, and locations in Brunswick County like Sea Trail Plantation, Holden Beach, Oak Island, Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach, Shallotte, Orton Plantation, Old Brunswick Town, Southport, and Bald Head Island, including Old Baldy, the Bald Head Island Pavillion, Bald Head Island Clubhouse, Shoals Club at Bald Head Island, and the Village Chapel at Bald Head.

We have photographed weddings and events throughout the state of North Carolina, from beach to mountains, from North to South, including the Duck, Corolla, Cape Hatteras, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, and Kill Devil Hills in the Outer Banks; Emerald Isle, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, Swansboro, Beaufort, Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, New Bern, and Sneads Ferry on the Emerald Coast; Boone, Blowing Rock, Asheville, Hot Springs, Maggie Valley, Banner Elk, Elkin at the Elkin Creek Vineyard in the NC Mountains; Winston-Salem, The Piedmont Club, Kernersville, Greensboro, Pinehurst, The Fair Barn, The National Golf Club, Charlotte, Monroe, Gastonia, Rockingham, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Randleman, Asheboro, Southern Pines, Clinton, Greenville, Goldsboro, Rocky Mount, Nashville, Edenton, High Point, and many little towns and neighborhoods between. Weddings Around the Country
We pride ourselves in the work we have done in our home state, but we have also traveled quite a bit to photograph weddings and b'nai mitzvah around the country! We've photographed bar and bat mitzvah in Washington, DC, and in Brooklyn, NY. We were flown to Maui, Hawaii for an intimate elopement wedding and extensive three-day newlywed shoot on the black sand beaches and among the gorgeous rainforests of Charo's home island. We were commissioned for an amazing wedding in Yakima, Washington when the bride found our work and could not imagine hiring anyone else for her wedding, even though it would cost so much just to get us out there! We've covered weddings in St. Louis, Missouri, at the Renaissance Hotel and at the Four Seasons in downtown STL. We have spent a great deal of time in South Carolina, capturing many weddings at our favorite destination, Daufuskie Island, along with so many weddings in Charleston at Charleston Place, Founders Hall, The Gadsden House, Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, The Lake House at Bulow, many quaint little spots among the islands off Charleston, Kiawah Island, Johns Island, Wadmalaw Island, Boone Hall Plantation, DeBordieu Club, James Island Yacht Club, and more. We've returned to the Siebels House in downtown Columbia several times for weddings, and we've been lucky enough to photograph weddings in Greenville-Spartanburg, Aiken, Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, Myrtle Beach, Sumter, Georgetown, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet and Folly Beach, Beyond SC we've also been sent to Daytona Beach and Jacksonville, Florida; Atlanta, Jekkyl Island, Savannah and Augusta Georgia, Richmond, Chesapeake, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Greensville, Fredericksburg, Arlington, Manassas, Alexandria, Lessburg Virginia, Washington DC, Baltimore Rockville and Frederick Maryland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Dayton, Cleveland, Knoxville, Louisville, Harrisburg, Boston, and Philadelphia.

Along the way, we have met some of the most amazing people, seen some of the prettiest sights, and captured some of the most memorable, most emotional moments of our careers, and I am just so thankful to have been given the chance at this phenomenal career.
Indian Wedding Photography
We have been photographing Indian weddings and South Asian weddings since 2007. With extensive experience in Hindu weddings, including South Indian, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Sri Lankan, Hindi, North Indian, and many fusion Indian weddings, where the bride or groom is Indian and their spouse is Chinese or Taiwanese, Western, or another Asian or European descent, and the traditions and customs of each family were fused into one amazing day.
We have been so fortunate to experience so many South Asian and Desi weddings, and to learn all of the customs and to understand the intricacies involved with photographing these events! With our extensive knowledge and our years of experience, we have become known as experts in Indian weddings in North Carolina, and we are quite happy to accept that honor! We have photographed weddings that range from a single day to four days long, weddings with as few as 80 guests and as many as 750, and weddings at plantations and farms to weddings at five star resorts. We've experienced almost everything there is to experience at an Indian wedding so far, but each and every wedding is so different and has so much to teach us that we are always excited to have a new challenge and learn even more about the Desi culture and the different ways everyone celebrates the wedding day! The only thing we haven't yet experienced but we are dying to is an elephant for the baraat. If you are planning to hire an elephant, PLEASE CALL US.
We are happy to send out pricing upon request, so please email or call us and tell us about your wedding so we can prepare pricing information for you! Most of our weddings require a little bit of customization in packages and quotes, and we are more than happy to work with you to customize a package that works perfectly for your wedding weekend!
