“Only once in every life
Someone just like you appears
Is there any greater thrill
No never in a million years”
On a crisp November day in North Carolina, a local Indian boy married a girl from Wisconsin. They danced to bluegrass, ate barbecue and Krispy Kreme, and served local craft beer in mason jars. There was a cheesehead. This was Day One of Genevieve and Shravan’s two-day Wisconsin-Carolina-Indian wedding weekend.
In the middle of all the laughter, the Midwest-meets-South, the twangy music, the kitschy regional insertions, the fun that was made of Southerners freezing in 55 degree weather… there was a quiet sweetness that was Shravan and Genevieve. Their every moment together was emotional, one fighting tears while the other wiped them away. You could almost watch their hearts swell as they saw each other for the first time that day. You could feel it. You could drown in it. It was every bit a love story, packed into one “unseasonably chilly” fall day.
