“And where was I before the day
that I first saw your lovely face? Now I see it every day.
And I know that I am
I am, I am the luckiest.”
We photograph weddings now and then for Elise Beall, a wonderful friend and colleague of ours based in Jacksonville. See, she retired from shooting weddings five or so years back, but she was so in demand, so sought out by new brides and grooms she’d photographed in high school and on beach vacations… well, how can you turn away work, right? So, a few times a year, Mike and I will pack up and head to Jacksonville or thereabouts for an Elise Beall Photography wedding.
This particular wedding, though, was a little more personal for all of us, as the bride, Andrea, is Elise’s beloved niece. Packed full of family members that we’ve heard dozens of stories about, some we’d met on family vacations and in passing, most we already knew enough about to feel right at home, all day and night. What an amazing, beautiful, tight-knit and loving family. What an honor, to be chosen to document one of the most momentous days in the lives of the Wessels.
Thank you, Andrea, Jason, and Elise, for letting us be a part of your family for that chilly weekend in March. We love you.
